Hailing originally from Nigeria, Arinola Nnatuanya is a vocalist and worship leader with The Tribe Of Judah worship team at Jesus House in London. This, her first album, impresses with its quiet confidence. Arinola's rich, soulful vocals avoid the pitfalls of "pushing too hard" and this gentler, purer approach is mirrored by a controlled, piano-led production (by Tolu Okeowo) which strategically adds occasional guitar/bass/drums for a band sound that never overwhelms singer or songs. So then, what about the songs? Lyrically, there is little here which the seasoned aficionado of modern worship music will not have heard before, but the honesty ("In spite of who I am/Lord in spite of what I am/In spite of all I have, I worship you" on "I Worship You") and occasional poetic image ("You're the dew drop of my dawn/You're my shining star/You're the joy that fills my soul" - "Adonai") ring true and Arinola delivers quietly insistent melodies with assurance. A strong debut which should find a wider audience.

Great worship album! Listening to Arinola's soulful tones on
the Tube on my way in to work in the mornings helps me step
into an attitude of praise and worship, and sets the scene
for a blessed day.
I would highly recommend it. Perfect Christmas present for
loved ones, certainly!
