Brain Doerksen, who like Andy Park has been a pioneering figure in Vineyard Canada's worship music, says on the back cover, "There is a huge wealth of practical advice and trustworthy counsel here." I hereby concur. Most books on worship are heavy on either practical do's or don'ts or Biblical theology but this satisfying chunky tone takes in both areas and this is therefore of interest as much to the non-musician as to the would-be Redman struggling to work out the chords to "Heart Of Worship". Also featured in this fascinating read is Park's personal story on how he came to be a worship leader. In Section 2 there are excellent chapters on The Ministries Of Teaching And Evangelism (the latter reprinted elsewhere in this magazine) while Section 3 sets out the practical duties of the worship leader. All in all, one of the best books on worship I've read.
