Cross Rhythms never received a copy of this album when it was released in 2012 but we're delighted that we've now located a copy. The title track is the New England band's most well-known worship song featuring their signature line, "May the matchless name of Jesus be the anthem of our lives." Andy's vocals resemble REM's Michael Stipe and are complemented by Joel Rousseau's skillful guitar and supporting harmonies. ''Open Arms'', a catchy, upbeat, prayerful tribute to the one who is "standing by with open arms," has understandably been released as a single. "Pilgrim" is another outstanding track with beautiful instrumental interludes featuring violin and crystal clear vocals with the chorus, "Jesus come be my reason/The truth that I live in," summing up the singer's aim. Each track has thoughtfully penned lyrics and the rich soundtrack enhances the impact, as in "Awaken Me" which pleads, "Come rescue me/Come rescue me from all of my complacency." With superb musicianship and quality production from Jars Of Clay's Mitch Dane, 'Lifted High' is one of the best independently released worship projects of the last few years.
