This is a well produced CD by Al Whitmoor-Pryer who was formerly of Out Of Canaan, who disbanded some years ago. His other claim to fame was appearing on stage playing mouth organ with Tony Cummings at a very early Cross Rhythms festival (was I born then?). This new album 'High Energy' is not a dance album as it may sound but a varied collection of several styles of Christian music but largely featuring blues with an occasional sorte into folk (Sydney Carter's "Lord Of The Dance") where the fiddle playing is brill and would suit those of you who are already missing those summer barn dances. The opening track "Crossroads" starts off with a high pitched jazz style for the first few seconds then hits you with a rocking blues, and on "Miracle Boogie" there is a mini sermon sandwiched in, and things like "We Are Going To See Jesus Working In The Fulness Of The Power Of His Spirit" makes this live track very exciting and the track "I Give You Glory" is a nice worship song.
