ATJ stands for "addicted to Jesus" and is the moniker of an otherwise unnamed German Christian singer who has released a five-track EP of songs that reference his faith. Whilst the opening track "The Streets I've Walked" has a competent enough instrumental backdrop (reminiscent of Bowie during his 'Let's Dance' period), the message of Jesus' love is all but lost thanks to the singer's thick accent and a series of weird vocal effects. The vocal performance in the more considered "Jesus I Wake Up In The Morning" is slightly better but by the time we get to the title track - an adaptation of a shipwreck poem written by Otto Ernst - the singer has turned the melodrama up to 11 to almost comedic effect before the painful falsetto-laden "Longing Waiting" rounds off a release full of frankly bizarre pieces.
