Prayer walking is walking through your local streets and praying into the area and for the people. So often, as churches, we hardly know the areas that surround our churches and walking through and thinking and praying for the area rather than driving through in a rush is a fantastic way to get to know our local area and its needs.
Jesus was constantly amongst the people, He did not stay hidden in a religious building. Prayer walking is a great way of taking the walls off the church. Jesus in Luke 9 sent the disciples out into the villages and countryside. The early Christians spent their time out in the community and what better way to begin than prayer walking your community. Prayer walking is a dynamic way to plough the ground for evangelism to come.

I'd like more information about prayer walking please. We've done it before as a church but not for a year or two, despite some remarkable occurances. I'd be interested to hear other peoples' take on the subject. God bless, thanks Chris Wright.
