Praying In A Barren Place: 6. Sing, O Barren

"Sing, O barren. You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not laboured with child!" Isaiah 54:1

What is the worst thing someone could possibly tell you to do over an area where you feel barren? Sing? I thought so; well that is what Father tells us to do in His word. SING, SING, SING in your barren places, SHOUT FOR JOY!

I know this doesn’t help when you feel spiritually dead, emotionally dead and desperate for an answer that will make you sing. God though tells us to sing before we get the answer. There’s something about singing that releases something in the Heavenlies; remember Paul and Silas and what happened to them when they sang in the prison cell (Acts 16: 16-34)!

SING in your barren place, SING in you wilderness; you don’t have to sing praise because of it but SING and PRAISE God for who He is regardless of it! And this is the key to Praying in a Barren Place!
