A.C.T.S. is a framework to pray by. It provides a series of prayer techniques to involve in your praytime. It stands for:
A – adoration
C – confession
T – thanksgiving
S – supplication ( or asking )
It’s a way of setting your prayer time with a series of different ways of praying and types of prayer, so that you can cover a lot of things and not drift off into a day dream or lose focus on God and what you are actually trying to pray.
Setting up ways to pray and adding structure to your prayer life is a good thing and helps you to focus, especially if you find it difficult to pray for long periods of time. Over the next five weeks we’re going to look at each individual area and how to expand them in our prayer lives. The key is to make the most of our prayer time, especially in our busy lives where prayer often gets put on the to do list rather than the done list. The A.C.T.S prayer technique is about making the maximum effect in our time of prayer.
“However, if you don’t have these definite prayer forms, you are confused and can’t pray well. By understanding all the forms of prayer, you can add one prayer form to another.” CHO
