Who Is God When You Pray?: 7. God and Job (Challenger)
The book of Job talks a great deal about all that one man suffered. If we read Job 1: 6–12 we read of Satan’s conversation with God and how God knew His servant Job. Satan was determined to prove that Job would sin but God knew better. God allowed Satan to take all Job had from him, but he was not permitted to touch Job’s life.

Job suffered the loss of his family, his home, lived with ill health and still he cried out to God and refused to curse God. But if we read Job 38 - 41 we see how God, after all Job has suffered and been through still challenges Job to a few home truths and humbles Job to complete submission to Him. God tells Job that He must accept what comes to him and that he is in no place or position to challenge the God who made the universe.

God is always a God of challenge and sometimes when we pray and when we call on God to help or deliver us, God is using the situation to help our character grow and to make us more like Jesus. God wants to continually take us on from glory to glory.

If you read the last few verses in the book of Job you will see that God restores back to Job more than he had in the first place. So today maybe you feel like God just keeps pushing you to learn and challenges you in all areas of your life, maybe its difficult and painful; but be assured that God is working for your ultimate good and that He is for you not against you. Stay firm in your faith and allow your Father in Heaven to challenge your heart and mind again today!
