Here Jesus encourages us to surrender ourselves through prayer to the will and purpose of God. God the Father is a perfect gentleman and will not impose Himself or His plan on us if we are unwilling. So it is important that we tell God through prayer that we want Him to be the King of our hearts, our lives, our situations, our relationships, our jobs and our families. When we surrender all to Him and we choose Him above ourselves, God will open up Heaven to bless us. He did the same with John the Baptist who said "You must increase, I must decrease" (John 3:30) and Jesus who said "not my will but Yours be done" (Luke 22: 42). Why not make these your prayers too, because it is important that we surrender our lives through prayer, that we tell God that we want His will in our lives. Prayer is about relationship and having a relationship with a God who is a perfect gentleman means, that unless we give He will not take, unless we surrender He will not take control. Let this be our prayer this week that God's Kingdom will come and His will be done in our lives, our families, our city, our nation...
