Worship and singing are seen in some peculiar places in the Bible. In looking at these, you could use these examples of worship with prayer that are out of the usual context of the worship block in our church services, to help you.
Nehemiah 12: 17-43 talks about a dedication choir singing, for when the Jerusalem City was re-built. We in the same way can sing songs of dedication over our lives, our homes etc.
Another example of worship is that of 2 Chronicles 20: 20–22 and Joshua 6. Both of these scriptures talk of singing and instruments being used as an aspect of war and battle, and God using them to win wars and scatter enemies. In the same way in battles that we face in our lives, whether emotional or with life issues, we can use songs as our songs of courage and songs of praise to God that He is with us in all things. It says in Psalm 32: 7 that God sings “SONGS OF DELIVERANCE” over us.
When we don’t know what to pray and we sing songs of praise and worship to God, He draws close and tells us what’s on His heart and begins to lead us in prayer. Worship takes us into intimacy with Him.
Psalm 100: 4
“I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart, I will come into His courts with praise.”
