RED – STOP
When we see the red light on the traffic signals we all know to stop. And sometimes when we pray about things and ask God for needs, wants, desires and the like, He can and will say STOP. In effect we hit a red light!
In the last series we looked at praying in line with the Spirit of God. We can see that when God says stop, we need to re-evaluate our thinking, our desires and find out what the Spirit says rather than what the flesh says.
1 John 5: 14-15 says:
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
Therefore if we feel like we are hitting a Red Light, maybe we need to spend some time asking the Father what His plan is about certain situations. His way is always better than our ways, though often we fail to see that until afterwards and we fail to understand.
Even Jesus prayed a prayer that His Father God said STOP to. When he knelt in Gethsemane He prayed that the cross that waited before Him may be avoided but His Father’s answer was no, therefore He said, not my will but Your will be done.
