Genesis 37-47
Joseph is another example of a man who had great insight and discernment about things that would happen in His own life and in nations. Joseph’s insight did not come from hearing an audible voice but came from dreams and visions; as long as these line up with the word of God there is no problem in praying upon their revelation, or indeed asking God to confirm them to you.
There is one particular thing that Joseph learns after his early days of pride and boasting, which got him into a lot of trouble and hardship. When Joseph guides Pharaoh into how to keep the land of Egypt in plenty and out of famine he insists upon the fact that it is nothing to do with him or his power that he could interpret Pharaoh’s dreams but he is humble and gives all the glory to God and declares that it is from God’s grace that they can be saved as a nation:
“So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, ‘It is not me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” (Genesis 41:16)
Learn the easy way from the lesson Joseph learnt the hard way, be humble as God reveals secrets and mysteries to you.
