'But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.' Isaiah 40:31
As we have seen in this series for Abraham and Joshua and Caleb there was great merit in waiting on God, as you will see if you read up on many other Biblical characters.
Waiting is not always easy, it is not always what we want to do BUT it is very often necessary for God to accomplish His will in our lives. When we wait God can do things He cannot do while we are busy and hectic and in effect, not waiting.
In Isaiah 40:31 we can see that those who wait will go higher in their spiritual life and that they will not be overcome with fatigue. Strength is found in great measure in waiting and, believe it or not, nowhere else.
Spend time in quiet and listen for God, just enjoy being ready for Him when He speaks into your life and you will be amazed at the strength you will find in that place of waiting in your prayer life.
