One of the most important aspects of corporate prayer is that those who gather are in unity. We saw that in the last teaching when it says in Acts 1:14 the disciples were '...with one accord...'
In 1 Corinthians 12:12-28 Paul talks about the church as the body of Christ and that if a natural body was in disunity with itself it would never be able to function and that in the same way the Church, the body of Christ must be in one accord to function properly.
In Psalm 133 we see the ultimate reason why unity is important in our daily Christian lives as well as in prayer meetings.
'Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!...For there the Lord commanded the
blessing – life forevermore.'
Father promises to bless those who are in unity. It is essential in a prayer meeting that all are in one accord otherwise we could end up disagreeing with the things we choose to pray for or about. Let the Spirit of God lead your prayer gatherings and therefore be in one accord and therefore be blessed by God!
