Superstar Stevie Wonder returns with 'A Time 2 Love' album.

RUMOURS about the possible Christian beliefs of pop and R&B superstar Stevie Wonder have resurfaced with the release of his Motown album 'A Time 2 Love', the singer/multi-instrumentalist's first new recording for 10 years. Featured on the project is rising gospel diva Kim Burrell and the Kirk Franklin gospel choir. CR

The following lyrics from "Isn't she lovely" would tend to suggest he is a believer.

"Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love"

I think he is. course the subject isn't important as stated below, but hey, why not talk about it you know? I think Stevie knows his creator, ever hear the song "spiritual walkers"? listening to it carefully, he is definitely talking about some kind of faith and he mentions God in many songs (i know many other artists do too but...) he has guest starred on several gospel albums too as well. anyways, i think he is...

Ever since I was a child, I don't remember hearing any single hit of Stevie Wonder containing any clear or evident reference to a belief in Jesus Christ. I don't know if he is. I hope he does. Don't wanna judge his belief as only God knows if Stevie already belongs to Him as a child of God saved by grace. If an artist focuses his music in spreading the gospel of Jesus by any means, then he it clearly means that his own life is focused on Christ, unless he only does it for money.. I think the more you walk by faith, the more your music will smell your belief and trust in Christ.. but it's not the question here saying who's really Christian, who's not. I am. And that's all what matters. If Stevie is, then praise the Lord! If he's not, then I hope he'll soon commit his life to Christ.

Why on earth does it matter? Being "officially" a Christian is not the question here. Clearly his music is all that is there to "judge". If you think his music is inspired and wonderful then why not play it? It surely doesn't need to be CCM music ! I am a Christian by faith and not music style. All those attributes trying to define what is "christian" , such crap! I can be a Christian and play in a public blues band, or rock band, or pop band and not once mention the name of Christ, yet remain being a C hristian praising God with my talents. Or I can make gospel music without actually believing or knowing God. I might not know, but I still praise God.
Unless this music station is all about worship music, why not play it?
Unless you feel certain music is being blasphemous - why having a problem with it?If it's a CCM radio station, you know the answer. If it's a worship radio station, you also know the answer.
If it's a radio station for beautiful, enchanting, sometimes uplifting, honest music of any sort, you know it even clearer. All those labels, I'm so tired of it all. It's music. And it's good. What else is there to know? Define it by your radio channel, and not by Stevie Wonder.

Who really cares, he's an awesome muso, an amazing guy and loving family man, he's a better person than a lot of christians I know! Heck, I say play him, the world needs more guys like him in it.

I have always wanted to know if Stevie has declaired any serious faith in Jesus Christ. I would love to play him on my radio show of music by Christian artists, Over my Head, CKCU 93.1 FM.

Anyone know?
