No Longer Music complete tour of Soviet Union's eastern republics.

AMSTERDAM-Based Thrash-metal band No Longer Music have just completed a tour of the Soviet Union's Eastern Republics. The 14-concert tour of Siberia, Kazakhstan and Kirghizia - the latter two strong Muslim republics -included appearances as the first western musicians ever to be allowed into the until-recently 'closed' city of Barnaul. Despite warnings against speaking too openly about their faith, the group have seen a tremendous response from young people at their concerts with 55 people becoming Christians on one night alone. The tour has been heavily featured by Soviet media, and the group have been invited back to perform in a major rock festival later in the year. CR
