70's rock icon Steve Harley speaks about his Christian faith.
MAINSTREAM rock star Steve Harley, best known for his work with '70s band Cockney Rebel and his multi-million selling hit "Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile)", spoke to Christian Herald in January about his Christian faith. He told journalist James Hastings, "I went to Sunday school as a child and my faith in God is something which has stayed with me throughout my life, even as a rock singer. Our church is very old and beautiful. It's difficult not to feel the presence of God with you when you're sitting inside or reading the Bible. Of course, it's not just about the building. I go to church because in my business, I need to keep my feet on the ground and to remind myself of my need for God in my everyday life."
Steve Harley kicks off a British tour in Southampton on 26th February. The 17-concert tour finishes at London's Bloomsbury Theatre on 21st March.
