'Speechless' the most successful Steven Curtis Chapman album
THE NEW 'Speechless' album by American CCM star Steven Curtis Chapman is set to be his most successful album ever. The album entered the US Christian music charts at number one and the US pop album charts at 31. The Sparrow album (released in the UK through Alliance) sold 51,459 copies in its first week of release.
Also, just published in the US is a book, written with his pastor
Scotty Smith, called Speechless: In Awe Of The Power Of God's
Disruptive Grace.
Songs on the 'Speechless' album cover a wide
range of topics, "Fingerprints Of God" was written to encourage his
daughter; "Dive" was inspired by one of his pastor's sermons" while
"With Hope" was written for the families of the Paducah shooting
victims. Proceeds from the latter song will go to Neighbours Who Care,
a ministry geared towards victims of crime. Chapman is also working on
a documentary with director Ken Carpenter entitled Bullet-proof? which
will try and alert kids to danger signals amongst their schoolmates.
Chapman hosts the film which includes interviews with counsellors and
others in Jonesboro and Paducah.
