Huge mission involving thousands of young people set for July and August 2004.
PROGRESS is being made in the run up to the mission to London Soulinthecity, though a need financial support has been expressed by the organisers Soul Survivor for the event due to take place from 26th-30th July (Week A) and 2nd-6th August (Week B). In their Soul2soul newsletter they said, "We need £3 million in order to see all we want to see happen. We are lower on anticipated income at this point, a good chunk of which is from delegate bookings. Booking now will keep the machinery well oiled in the run up to the summer." The newsletter went on to say, "We are anticipating 15,000 of you all coming along with young people from London's churches, and groups from Canada, USA, Holland, Australia and YWAMers from everywhere."
Soul Survivor's Mike Pilavachi said, "There are now 400 partner churches registered from all over London and more joining up virtually every day. There is a real coming together between the inner city and suburban churches and an incredible and wonderful joining together of the black majority churches and the others. We are at last receiving permission for our 'Tent Cities' to be located in different parts of London. We have permission to use St Paul's Cathedral for J John to speak for 10 nights on the 10 Commandments in addition to all that will be taking place throughout the city. Also, we are having a fundraising dinner in February at No 11 Downing Street, the home of the Chancellor of the Exchequor! I'm still not sure how God sorted that one."
