Billy Joe Shaver, almost 70, releases first gospel album
VETERAN country man Billy Joe Shaver, who in the past has
written songs recorded by such acts as Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley and
Kris Kristofferson, has recorded his first gospel album at the age of
almost 70. The project, 'Everybody's Brother', features guest
appearances from such artists as Kristofferson, Marty Stuart, John
Anderson, Tanya Tucker and even the late Johnny Cash. The CD was
produced by John Carter Cash and is described by Christian Retailing
magazine as a "sawdust-on-the-floor, toe-tapping, honky-tonk album
that is nothing short of brilliant."
