Country star Blake Shelton secures a Christian radio hit
ONE OF the biggest stars in country music, Blake Shelton, who has enjoyed 21 number
one US country music hits, has surprised industry observers with his
latest single and album. After a troubled time in 2015 ending with the
singer's marriage ending in divorce, Shelton recorded an album 'If I'm
Honest'. A single from the project, "Savior's Shadow", according to
Shelton, uses lyrics some of which came to the singer in a dream. The
song, currently a hit on US Christian radio, contains such verses as
"Though the Devil tried to break me/My sweet Jesus won't forsake
me/When I'm in my saviour's shadow/Where I'm supposed to be."
Shelton's new girlfriend, pop star Gwen Stefani, who Blake met after
both became judges on The Voice TV talent search, has also released an
album that is reportedly "focused on God", 'Now This Is What the Truth
Feels Like'.
