Ex-1980s popstar Ricky Ross has a new UK album out soon
ONE TIME frontman of '80s hit makers Deacon Blue, Ricky Ross, will soon be
releasing a new solo album 'Pale Rider'. The Dundee-born singer has
been working with producer Davie Scott on a 12 track album which will
include the songs "In The End", which is a tribute to Graeme Kelling,
the late guitarist in the original Deacon Blue line up, "Calvary" and
"She Gets Me Inside", a song which featured on Ronan Keating's third
studio album 'Turn It On'. Ricky has been working with Ronan over the
past couple of years. When speaking to Glasgow's Evening Times
recently, Ross said, "I went to a show of his at the SECC and it was
the first time I'd really seen him live. And he performed a song I had
written. It gave me a great thrill to hear one of my songs being
played at the SECC." Despite two decades at the top, writing music has
become nothing like a thankless chore for Ricky. He said, "The
songwriting market is very competitive, but it's something I still
love doing. I'll walk the dog and take a dictaphone with me and record
ideas. I try to tap into the universal spirit, to find something
people can get."
