An unfortunate blow is dealt to the Gospel community as Rex Nelon dies

THE SOUTHERN Gospel music community lost another of its major figures when Rex Nelon died of a heart attack in London on 23rd January. The legendary bass voice of the Nelons was in the UK filming for Bill Gaither's popular Homecoming video series. Rex Nelon was for 20 years a member of the LeFeures who eventually changed their name to the Rex Nelon Singers before evolving into the Nelons. CR
