Multi-cultural worship on debut album by Freddy Rodriguez

WORSHIP leader Freddy Rodriguez has his debut CD 'Light In The Darkness' released through Integrity Music in February. Rodriguez recorded the project at the Champions Center, a non-denominational church in the heart of Las Vegas. Much like his friend and label mate Israel Houghton, Rodriguez believes in creating music that blends styles and reflects the diversity of the Church and the community in which he ministers. Said Rodriguez, "The worship community is looking for something new. . . there's a need for more cross-cultural worship out there. Champions is a great diversity of people. They're probably 25 per cent Hispanic, 25 per cent black, 25 per cent white and 25 per cent Asian. So, you hear a lot of styles, which is great by me because that's where I'm at personally... I love that we have the ability to worship together - red, yellow, black and white." CR
