Dozens of old U2 recordings emerge after 20 years
A MULTI-format release of the U2 album 'How To Re-assemble An Atomic Bomb' is set for UK release on 22nd November. It will be issued on 180g 2LP, CD and cassette. It will also be issued in Super Deluxe forms as 8LP and 5CD packages. The album features newly curated versions of tracks originally recorded for the band's 2004 album 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'.
The December issue of Record Collector magazine carries a 14-page feature about U2 and the 'Atomic Bomb' albums. In the magazine Bono wrote about the two albums: "It's not very rock'n'roll subject matter but it offered us opera played by guitar, bass and drums and it began a level of introspection that ended up affecting the whole band's inquiry as to what made us who we are... I think of 'City Of Blinding Lights' as the first song of innocence... With the exception of 'No Line On The Horizon', that period continued for 20 years - 'Songs Of Innocence', 'Songs Of Experience', they're all retrospective. It has stopped, you'll be pleased to hear."
