Plans progress to launch London-based Christian radio station.
LONDON is likely to have its own Christian radio station, if plans by Viscount Brentford and Christian communications expert Pete Meadows get the go ahead. The Radio Authority are due to advertise three licences for London on the AM waveband in March and the Christian community are planning to apply for a licence for a 24 hour Christian station. The station will broadcast to a potential audience of 10 million people.
"This is a great opportunity for the churches - but it has to be seized," said Pete Meadows, an executive member of the Churches Advisory Council on Local Broadcasting. "We need to show the Radio Authority that the Church wants a radio station."
