Californian rapper Gerry Skrillz faces down the Latino immigrants issue

Racial Attack Firestorm

SAN DIEGO, California-based rapper Gerry Skrillz has released a single, "Alright", featuring Eric Heron. Said Skrillz, "'Alright' is about tapping into a state of mind that allows us to rise above our negative surroundings. It is a journey through the eyes of a Latino artist determined to push through adversity in a country that struggles to embrace its own diversity. I wrote this song with the intent to empower minorities as they struggle to overcome difficult circumstances within an unjust society. Specifically, 'Latino immigrants' finding their identity amongst a firestorm of racial attacks stemming from the issue of immigration in American politics. I want my music to give my people hope and remind them that our success and happiness is not dependent on the acceptance of a society struggling to understand itself." CR
