Mining-themed music on latest album and tour by Gareth Davies-Jones

CRITICALLY acclaimed folk roots singer Gareth Davies-Jones has completed his new album, the songs for which were written during his autumn 2014 songwriting residency at The Mining Institute in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Said Davies-Jones, "The name of the album 'The Usual Quarterly Days' comes from a line in the Institute's lending rules which for many years were helpfully pasted on the inside cover of most of their books and documents. The Live Concert Tour of The Seam Project in the North East of England kicks off in Newcastle on Saturday 7th February and continues for six dates through to April. With me at the launch event will be Bronwen Davies-Jones on backing vocals and Shona Mooney on fiddle and we'll be adding some visuals to help add some context to the songs. I'll also be taking the show on the road in the autumn/winter of 2015 and no doubt some of the music will feature at my gigs in between now and then."
