Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D. criticises Dove Awards
P.O.D. FRONTMAN Sonny Sandoval spoke in a recent interview about the Dove Awards organised by the Gospel Music Association. Commenting in the Nashville Tennessean newspaper about P.O.D.'s failure to earn any nominations for song or album in the categories of modern rock/alternative, hard rock or rock at this year's Dove Awards, despite the band's massive popularity in the mainstream, Sandoval said, "That's all politics. It's like the same people that banned us. Now they're in their little office and they're like, 'Our goal is to help them break into the mainstream.' No it's not. Let's be honest with ourselves, that's not your heart's intention. You're just selling records. Whatever link you have to this, it looks good on your plate."
