Brian "Head" Welch launches Head Home orphanage in India.
THE EX-GUITARIST of notorious mainstream rockers Korn, Brian "Head" Welch, who recently shocked the music world by leaving the band after his Christian conversion, flew to India to launch an orphanage for India's refugees. Welch spoke about the initiative, called Head Home, "Throughout all of my life I have always had a heart for people that are hurting especially those that have no one to help them. My eyes have been opened to children on the street and I feel like for me that is who I want and need to help."
Head has linked up
with new manager, Steve Delaportas of Fortitude Films, to develop his
musical career, launch his upcoming documentary on his life and
partner with Welch in the Head Home projects. Delaportas has provided
funding and assistance to successfully help orphans country wide in
India with the company Good News India. This company helps house,
train and educate some 1600 school aged children throughout India.
With Delaportas' track record of success already in India, Head will be focussing
his Head Home to help
children of all issues such as the leper communities to help introduce
the leper children back into the community, help children where their
parents have sold them into brothels, to other impoverished
situations."
