Veteran group The Oak Ridge Boys record first ever acoustic album.
SOUTHERN GOSPEL and country veterans The Oak Ridge Boys will be releasing their first acoustic album on Spring Hill. 'The Journey' features songs such as "Saving Grace", about an elderly couple's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, "My Girl Friday", about a divorced father, and "Someplace Green", conveying a longing for small town life. Unlike the Oak Ridge Boys' previous releases targeted primarily at Christian retail, 'The Journey' is being promoted in the mainstream country marketplace. Said the group's Duane Allen, "We have always wanted to do an acoustic album. When people think of an acoustic album they think, 'They are going to sit on stools and get all laid-back.' This is the opposite of that."
