New Orleans singer/songwriter Jake Smith releases new EP
NEW ORLEANS-based singer/songwriter Jake Smith, whose 'Real' album for Rocketown gained critical acclaim, has a new EP 'All That We'll Ever Need' released independently. Recorded in Nashville with producer Joe Causey, the project features a more acoustic sound than his previous album. Speaking about the lyrical themes about the album Jake said, "I've found in my life that more than knowledge or ability or the exact answers, what we need is hope! We chase after dreams and goals and then watch them disappear. Or we catch them just to realise they weren't worth the effort. If we could just have hope to know we're not living in vain, then that's all we'll ever need to keep going. I've found that I don't want to feel like I have the right answers just for the sake of the argument. Rather, I want my life to be a reflection of truth by living and learning. I won't back down. I won't become bitter. I refuse to give up the fight."
