A new radical definition of gospel has been put forward by America's Gospel Music Awards
AFTER A backlash of criticism to their implementation of lyric criteria to determine an album or song's eligibility to the Dove Awards, America's Gospel Music Association have revised the statement for the 2000 Awards. The new definition now reads, "Gospel music is music in any style whose lyric is substantially based upon historically orthodox Christian truth contained in or derived from the Holy Bible; and/or apparently prompted and informed by a Christian world view."
