Britain gets Christian and gospel singles chart
THE 6th MARCH saw the launch of the Official UK Christian & Gospel Chart. The weekly chart has been developed by the Official Charts Company (providers of pop and specialist charts for BBC Radio 1, Music Week, The Sun and many more) and AStepFWD (the originators of UK Christian Charts, new release listings and the organisers of the annual AStepFWD Christian and gospel music awards).
Over the past decade Britain has seen a rise in demand for faith-based music. In 2025, combined UK annual sales and streams of Christian and gospel albums crossed 500K for the first time since the Official Charts Company began tracking the genre. UK streams of Christian and gospel music have increased seven-fold since 2015 with streaming now accounting for 93% of the genre's consumption today and up 9% year-on-year in 2025. The genre's biggest British album release of 2025 is the eleventh studio album by Sault, 'Acts Of Faith'.
The new singles chart spotlights the whole range of music from pop,
rock, hip-hop, R&B and inspirational. ![]()
