New training programme being run by Music And Worship Foundation.
A REGIONAL Training Programme is being launched by the Music And Worship Foundation with the support of Christian musicians from all main denominations.
One-year part-time courses for church musicians and worship leaders are to be run in East Anglia, the Midlands, the Southwest and the Northwest starting this autumn. Other regions will be added in 1992.
The courses aim to develop specialist skills, examine theological issues in the area of worship and introduce the whole range of Christian music from traditional to contemporary in the context of each student's local fellowship.
"The worship leader's task is to encourage God's people to worship him, so they need a good understanding of basic theology," explained Course Director Geoff Twigg.
