Lara Landon, Bill Petty, Gene Schmidt on new Haiti charity album
A NUMBER of American Christian music artists have donated resources, time and talents for a charity album, 'Haiti: Unto The Least Of These'. Artists on the project include Lara Landon, Bill Petty, Diane Di Stasio, Gene Schmidt, Paul Berkus, Deanna Loveland, Remnant, Joshua Scott, Naima Johnston, Jason Wyatt and Holly Hartz. Said songwriter Gene Schmidt, "I ached at the thought of seeing elderly people not being cared for and mounted on thin uncomfortable cots, left in soiled clothing, and out in the hot sun. Children wondering aimlessly looking for their parents, wounded people with no pain killers to numb their pain. I knew I had to do something, and for me that was to write a song that encourages others to help carry the burden in a practical way." The chorus of Schmidt's song goes, "Lend a hand where hands are torn and scarred/Be a friend to a child with a broken heart/Give to those with less than you and me/Who will hear the cry of Haiti."
Two organisations, New Reality International and HarvestSeed International, who have been actively providing emergency aid for Haiti, will be the recipients of the funds collected through sales of the album.

Lara and her team are leaving for Haiti on Feb.27th. Lara is a personal friend of mine and I know her heart. She will not forget these children when everyone gets tired of hearing about Haiti.
