Matt Redman to release single on 6th June

BRITAIN's award-winning worship leader Matt Redman will release a new single in the UK through Sparrow/Sixstepsrecords on 6th June. The singer/songwriter spoke about the song "Mercy", "I get to travel around a bit, doing what I do, singing and playing and leading people in worship and get to go some cool places whether it be a nice old venue like the Ryman in Nashville or the Royal Albert Hall in London or into the heart of NASA in Houston, Florida. Also get to go to some real startling places, once a leper colony in India. Some places have really rocked me, some places that have made a big impact on me and shaped me. But I got to thinking that there's one place I've been to that will shape me more than anywhere else, there's one place I've been to which rocks me more than anywhere else and that's the cross of Jesus Christ. This song starts 'I will kneel in the dust at the foot of the cross where mercy paid for me'. There's prayer and praise together, 'May I never lose the wonder, the wonder of the mercy/May I never lose the wonder.' That's my prayer for life, I hope that's yours too. If you've been rocked by the cross, if you've had your world and your life shaped forever by that place may you never lose the wonder of singing about the Saviour. This is mercy."
