London Community Gospel Choir head up 30-choir event

AS PART of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the London Community Gospel Choir a unique event is set to be staged at London's Southbank Centre on 4th to 6th May. 30 choirs from all corners of the world will be congregating for a mega-concert at the Royal Festival Hall and workshops. Southbank Centre will host this event as part of Chorus, its annual singing festival, which this year also heralds the opening of a summer-long Festival of Neighbourhood.

A highlight of the concert will be a Guinness World Record attempt to break the record for the greatest number of people in a gospel choir singing together in concert conditions. The Current number is 1138 and at least 1200 singers expected to participate. The songs chosen for the challenge are "O Happy Day" and LCGC's anniversary single "Keep Moving".
