Sixpence None The Richer's singer Leigh Nash set to release solo album
TWO YEARS after the amicable split of Sixpence None The Richer, singer Leigh Nash is set to release her debut solo album. 'Blue On Blue' is released in the US on One Son Records on 15th August. The project is produced by Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainwright) with Nash and Marchand co-writing two songs together.
The road to creating her solo album was an uncertain one. Said Leigh,
"I knew I wanted to do a record on my own. I always knew I wanted to
do that if the band were to break up. But then we actually did break
up and I hadn't necessarily seen that coming. It was a major life
change for me because I had been with Sixpence since I was 14. I was
27 at the time and I didn't know what I was going to do." Unsure of
what the future held, Leigh and her husband packed their bags and
moved out west to LA, where her son Henry was born. With a change of
scenery and new found motherhood, Nash wrote a batch of songs which
would eventually become 'Blue On Blue'. Now living back in Nashville,
the singer is preparing for a USA tour this autumn.
