Songwriter and mother Karen Lawson weighs in with CD
SUFFOLK-based singer/songwriter Karen Lawson has released a gospel jazz album, 'New Day'. Said Karen, "I write songs about what challenges me; poverty and injustice. Also, what it means to be real as a Christian, ie, we all mess up and have doubts at times. I am passionate about global and local social issues and after studying Development Studies at university I worked as an Aid & Development project manager in East African refugee areas and then with UK charities. Now, as a mum to three young children writing songs is something I love to do, fitting it around them."
