Gospel music veteran dies in Nashville
87 YEAR OLD gospel singer J Robert Bradley died on 3rd May in
Nashville, Tennessee from complications related to diabetes. Born in
Memphis, Bradley first sang as part of Professor James Earle Hines
& His Goodwill Singers. After touring through most of the 1930s
Bradley began studying classical music and later recorded for Apollo
and then Decca Records. After composer Lucy Campbell died, Bradley
replaced her as the director of music for the National Baptist
Convention.
