Amy Grant to release 'Legacy: Hymns And Faith' album

AMY GRANT has unveiled plans to record a hymns album. The project, to be released by Word/A&M in the States on 21st May, is called 'Legacy: Hymns And Faith'. The singer told CCM Update magazine that the project is a "long overdue musical expression" of her roots. The idea for the album, tentatively scheduled to include 13 to 14 hymns and four new songs, evolved when her management team - the recently reunited management partnership of Mike Blanton, Dan Harrell, Chaz Corzine and Jennifer Cooke - came together to discuss how to celebrate Grant's 25 year anniversary in music.

Explained Amy, "Mike Blanton said, let's kick off the year with a hymns record and let's go in and do it very quickly and not over scope it' I got so excited about it and both Word and A&M loved the idea. It's going to be so great to say, 'Here's where it all started - singing these songs in church."
