Flautist and composer David Heath to premiere 'Spirit Of The Truth' in St Alban's Abbey

CONTEMPORARY composer and flautist David Heath premieres a new work, 'Spirit Of The Truth' at St Alban's Abbey on 2nd May. One of Britain's most controversial musical figures, referred to by The Glasgow Herald as "the UK's most outrageous yet accessible contemporary composer," Heath embarked on his compositional career in 1975, absorbing such diverse influences as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Celtic music and the natural sound world. A recent profound and deeply moving spiritual insight lead heath to pen 'Spirit Of The Truth' - an inclusive celebration of the divine, drawing inspiration from, amongst others, John Coltrane, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and the teachings of Jesus.

World-famous percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie will take part in the premier of 'Spirit Of The Truth', together with Heath's son, trumpeter Liam Hendrix-Heath, soprano Angela Tunstall and the Islington School's Choir, directed by Robert Pepper.
