AMERICAN singer Lari White has been receiving considerable critical acclaim in the UK media for her self-produced, country-flavoured Southern soul album 'Green Eyed Soul'. Lari started out as a gospel performer but scored in America's county charts for RCA in the 1990s. White, a native of Dunedin, Florida, moved to Nashville in 1988. "When I was a kid," she says, "there were records I would keep going back to in my everyday life, doing chores around the house. Part of the vision for this album was to try to create the same vibe, an emotional state that it got you in and kept you there." The singer's album is released in the UK on Mesmerizing Records. Lari has made two visits to the UK, playing a London media showcase on June 3rd and appearing on BBC TV's Top Of The Pops 2 and Songs Of Praise.
