THE GOSPEL company GospoCentric Records is locked in a legal battle
with EMI Christian Music Group. In the latest move, a countersuit
seeking more than $50 million in compensatory damages and unspecified
punitive damages. GospoCentric's counterclaim is intended to "stop a
powerful music corporation (EMI-CMG) from destroying an independent,
Christian, African-American, woman-owned record label." The suit
asserts that EMI has "acted with prejudice and bad faith to try to put
GospoCentric out of business." The case hinges around GospoCentric
