Gil Scott-Heron, Courtney Pine, The Herbaliser to play Greenbelt '10
IN WHAT is an unprecedented number of non-Christian acts performing at this year's Greenbelt Festival, the organisers have announced that "godfather of socially conscious hip-hop" Gil Scott-Heron and jazzman Courtney Pine will join The Herbaliser, The King Blues, The Dodge Brothers and numerous other acts already announced at this year's event taking place on Cheltenham Racecourse over August Bank holiday weekend (27th-30th August). Speakers at Greenbelt '10 include gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, former MP Clare Short, groundbreaking theologian Stanley Hauerwas and "thoughtful agnostic" Mark Vernon.
