UK songsmith Garth Hewitt made Honorary Canon in Jerusalem
ON SUNDAY 11th June well known British singer/songwriter Garth Hewitt was installed as Honorary Canon of the Cathedral Church of St George The Martyr in Jerusalem. The service of installation was held at the cathedral by Bishop Riah Abu El-Assal, Bishop in Jerusalem. In his sermon Bishop Riah highlighted Canon Hewitt's commitment to the Palestinian church saying, "You deserve what you have been made. You have shared our joys. You have shared our pains. You made us dance with joy as you sang 'Chain Of Love'. You made us cry when you sang for Miriam, the Gaza girl shot in her leg by Israeli soldiers."
