The Anita Kerr Singers now receiving critical accolades for '60s music
THE GROUP of singers led by Christian singer, songwriter, conductor, pianist and music arranger Anita Kerr is, after a long time out of fashion, receiving praise from the critics. Reviewing the box set 'The Five Classic Warner Brothers Albums 1966-68', Shindig! magazine wrote, "For decades to be found padding out the cheapo bins, its rediscovery by discerning DJs revealed what was once regarded as Disneyesque schlock to be curiously elaborate audio wallpaper from another age. Anita Kerr, queen of easy, honed her vocal and arranging skills in Nashville and together with her Singers backed many stars of the Nashville sound. . . Just prior to this she signed to Warner Brothers, recording the five albums found in this box set."
