New record label eMrecords signs Mowglee and Glo.
ONE OF Christian music's key behind the scenes figures Mike Deal (best known for his work with Ultimate Showcase) has started a record label. eMrecords has already signed British rock bands Mowglee and Glo. Said Mike, "The vision is simple, take great bands and get them into the top 10! I am working mainly with Christian bands, trying to get the best out there into the mainstream charts where they can influence so many more people than just Christians. I will also be taking on non-Christian bands if hey are good enough. The label is about taking on great music from bands with great attitudes."
eMrecords' first projects will be a free download single from Mowglee
to be followed in the summer with a full album release into the
mainstream.
This sounds very interesting and unique in Christian circles - a record label set up by a Christian featuring both secular and Christian artistes.
If secular bands are signed and get their releases into the Top 40, then that will only get both the record industry and the general public interested in the other acts on the label, which will hopefully lead to the Christian bands gaining mainstream success.
